WARSAW — Close to 40 youngsters between the ages of 2 and 12 participated in the 2021 Kid’s Pageant at the Kosciusko County Fair. The event/activities tent was filled with participants, family and friends of the contestants. The event was held Monday evening, July 12.
Madelyn Zimmerman, 2020 Miss Kosciusko Fair Queen, who was mistress of ceremonies, welcomed the spectators, noting “It’s exciting to see all the chairs filled after a year.” She introduced members of the 2021 Miss Kosciusko Fair Queen and court along with the 2021 Miss Teen Kosciusko and her court, who assisted in the evening event.
The pageant was broken down into four categories: Miss and Mister Toddler, for 2-year-olds; Miss and Mister Preschool, those ages 3-4; Little Miss and Mister, ages 5-8; and Junior Miss and Mister, ages 9-12.

Winners were:
Miss and Mister Toddler — Abagayle Kuta, daughter of Skyler Kuta and Krystelle Johnson, Miss Toddler; and Lilah Hines, daughter of Katherine Hines, first runner-up. There were no Mister Toddler contestants.
Miss and Mister Preschool — Jada Cochran, daughter of Ashley Cochran and Ryan Cripe, Miss Preschool; Blayke Sands, daughter of Ryan and Devan Sands, first runner-up; Hazel Pratt, daughter of Mercedes and Kaleb Pratt, second runner-up; and Max Porter, son of Elizabeth and Mark Porter, Mister Preschool; William Radivan, son of Michelle and Nick Radivan, first runner-up; Silas Dausman, son of Chris and Kaila Dausman, second runner-up.
Little Miss and Mister — Olivia Dolbe, daughter of Heidi Dolbee, Little Miss; Brynn Van Laeken, daughter of Mike and Cheryl Van Laeken, first runner-up; Kaylin Penrod, daughter of Justin and Terin Penrod, second runner-up; Lucas Rhoades, son of Janelle Rhoades and Nathan Rhoades, Little Mister; Keegan Richardson, son of Corey and Lexy Richardson, first runner-up; Hunter Dausman, son of Chris and Kaila Dausman, second runner-up.
Junior Miss and Mister — Karlee Clevenger, daughter of Heather and Danny Griffith and Buster Clevenger, Junior Miss; Emma Blair, daughter of Christa Blair, first runner-up; Kinley Shilling, daughter and Randy and Whitney Shilling, second runner-up; Adric Shock, son of John and Kasey Shock, Junior Mister.
Zimmerman asked each age group such questions as their favorite food, if they liked coming to the fair, their favorite thing at the fair, what they wanted to do when they grew up and the school they attended. For the older participants the questions included if they could have a super power what would it be and why, if they could change anything at school what would it be, if they were in 4-H what projects they participate in, where they would take someone at the fair.
She was assisted by 2021 Miss Kosciusko Fair Queen Cassadi Colbert and Alyssa Swanson, Miss Teen Kosciusko County Fair Queen, along with their respective courts.
Judges for the evening included five of the past fair queens: Kaytlyn Adkins, 2012-13; Tiffany Hertel, 2016; Allison Stump, 2017; Ashley Larson, 2018; and Kyla Kohler, 2019.
